What is the OLPH Gift Card Program?
It is revenue for OLPH.
When you purchase gift cards from OLPH, for all your shopping needs, like groceries, clothing, and gas, the school earns money. Around the school these gift cards are called SCRIP. The best part is that it involves absolutely no cost to you, other than your usual shopping tendencies.
Here is how it works. OLPH buys gift cards at a discount from brokerage centers. You purchase these gift cards at full face value and use them in stores you already frequent. Since OLPH purchased these gift cards at a discount, the difference becomes revenue. It is easy money for our school and no hassle to you. It is a tuition break!
Once a family earns $100.00 for the school, they start earning money toward their tuition, extended day, retreats, or parish fund of their choosing. After earning $100.00, the continued earnings is split 50/50 with the school.
Here is an example. If a family purchases $200.00 in Basha’s/Food City for groceries and $100.00 in ARCO for gas in one month, that family has earned $14.00. Over the course of a year, the earnings will be $168.00. The first $100 goes to the school and the $68.00 is split 50/50, the family would earn $34.00 for just two items, purchased over the course of a year.
Families have received tuition breaks ranging from $1.00 to $1,100.00. We would like to see every OLPH family to take advantage of this opportunity. So, buy gift cards and get a tuition break.
